Patterns of Extracellular RNA (ex-RNA) in the bloodstream of patients reflect the dynamic state of disease pathology and could be used to risk stratify patients by their current condition. Unlike many established biomarkers, ex-RNAs are implicated in disease pathogenesis and may serve as functional biomarkers to risk stratify patients, diagnostics to guide therapy or therapeutic targets to modify disease outcome.
